Compact mini-mills for production of bars

At present a most actual direction in VNIIMETMASH activity is creation of metallurgical works with relatively low productivity which are intended for scrap processing in its formation places. 

Movable mixers

They are intended for transportation of cast iron from blast furnaces into steel melting shops through inside-works furnaces. Unique mixer was created for transportation of cast iron on the rails of common designation. Mixers with capacity of 150, 300, 420 and 600 t as well as a mechanized stand for lining maintenance are created.

Second metallurgy units

This units are integral part of modern steelmaking. Their use permits to simultaneously solve problems of quality growth productivity increase as well as energy and material consumption decrease.

Combined casting and rolling units (CRU) for steel and non-ferrous metals

Combination of casting and rolling in 1 unit is one of the most prospective metallurgy directions. On our casting and rolling units can be produced the entire rolling sortament of main non-ferrous metals in the CIS states. On the base of the run of CRU for non-ferrous metals VNIIMETMASH has developed the world's first CRU for direct combination of steel rolled products.

Tube rolling mills

They are intended for production of hollow profiles with diverse range of products and their functions.

Roll forming mill

They are intended for production of flexible thin-walled profiles with complicated shaped configuration.

Press equipment and pressworks

Since 1960, VNIIMETMASH has been the leading organization for high-capacity hydraulic presses, hydraulic and gasostatic machines as well as for special presses. The institute has designed the world's highest capacity presses with a press force of 75,000 t, technology and equipment for sheet-metal stamping through elastic medium, synthesis of superhard materials, cold and warm isostatic moulding of pieces from powdered materials, fluid stamping, etc.

Systems of electric- and hydraulic automatic equipment and lubrication.

An integral part of rolling equipment are machines and units for rolling product's transportation, cutting, straightening, welding, finishing and packing as well as systems of electric- and hydraulic automation and lubrication.

 

Equipment for blast furnaces

VNIIMETMASH has developed a series of crucial assemblies and machines which increase function efficiency of blast furnaces: cone-free charging devices; hot-blast valves; ring teeming cranes, etc.

Convertors

It is most high-productive equipment for steel's mass production.

Continuous casters

VNIIMETMASH is one of the founders of continuous casters. It is the most effective high-production environmental method for production of billets for further rolling.

Part rolling mill

They are intended for rolling of a wide range of precision billets of machine building parts (axis, shafts, rings, balls, pinions, wheels, sprockets, etc.) Mills for wedge and screw rolling have been designed.

Rolling mills (sheet mills, section mills, wire mills)

They are intended for production of a wide range of rolling profiles.

Drawing and sizing mills

They are intended for production of precise profiles with diverse shape and section by means of billet's broaching through opening of working tool.

Seam welding machines

They serve for amalgamation of diverse rolling products before pickling line, finishing line, etc.

Machines for rolling product's cutting

Straightening machines

They secure the required quality of rolling product's geometry.

Machine building production with common destination

Along with metallurgical equipment, VNIIMETMASH traditionally manufactures a wide range of products for diverse industry branches from space equipment and atomic power to medicine and municipal economy.
