VNIIMETMASH has mastered the production of tube moulds with the tapered form of the working surface for high speed billet casting. CCM productivity and casted billets quality straight depend on the manufacturing quality and geometry of the inner surface of mould. In dependence on casting speed, type of steel and billet cross section the taper 0,5...1,0 % per 1 m of the length may be used as the variable multistage taper, approaching im form to the shrinkage of a solidifying billet steel. Wear-resistant coating with thickness 70…120 m is put to the inner surface of a tube mold. The outer surface of the mould may be covered with the protecting coating for the decreasing of the scum. The use of such moulds secures the casting speed of billets with section 125x125 mm up to 3,2 m/min. |

For the further increasing of casting speed and temperature of billet at the mould outlet VNIIMETMASH has elaborated the unique design of mould. It's application the Moldavian metallurgical plant has allowed to increase the casting speed up to 3,8…4,0 m/min without the change exploitation characteristics of machine for the worse. By that the rhomboidity considerably was reduced and the billet quality was improved. The mould form considerably reduces the dependence of the thermal deformation of mould walls for the it's work. The mould construction is elaborated, which allows to fulfill tube repairing simultaneously with replacement of the cooling jacket. Tube mould are tested and improved at the Moldavian metallurgical work. VNIIMETMASH tube moulds are used at CCM Moldavian metallurgical plant in Republic of Moldowa, at CCM "Amurstal" in Russia, at "Gecosteel" in Syria, and "Ekingiler" in Turkey. |
