VNIIMETMASH elaborated the new technological process and created the
equipment complex of mill 200EKN for the production of thin instrumental band (1) in
rolls by the warm rolling method. The equipment complex of mill 200 EKN consists of
the uncoiler (2), the two rolls current conductive stand (3), the four rolls rolling stand
(4), the coiler (5) and the electrical source (6) of the pre-rolled band technological
heating . The pre-rolled band heating is fulfilled by electrical current, transmitted
through the moving band in gap between the current-conductive and rolling stands.
When passing from conductive-current to rolling stand metal is heated to temperature
of plastic deformation. The rolling speed at the mill may achieve 1 m/s. The electrical
source of technological heating secures the heating speed till 400°C/s. It is possible to
get pressing to 60% in one pass. In comparison with cold rolling the number of passes,
needful for making of the band of thickness 0,5...2 mm in rolls is decreased three times
and more. The need in execution of intermediate thermal treatment is eliminated. This
permits considerably reduce energy and work consumption. The high speed heating
and relatively low temperature (up to 800°C) of metal deformation promote the high
quality of instrumental band.
