The satisfaction of highest requirements of the cold-rolled Steel strip consumers is ensured by the use of the principally new Design of the six-high rolling Stand, developed in VNIIMETMASH.

VNIIMETMASH in co-operation with the Starokramatorsk machine-building work and the Dmitrov aluminium strip works has built the unique rolling mill with the roll body length 1350 mm. It consists of following main elements: the new six-high rolling stand with shortened support rolls, the main drive and the roll changing device; the uncoiler and coiler with charging and uncharging sections; the technological lubrication system with fine filtration section; the hydraulic, pneumatic, lubrication, ventilation and fire-fighting systems as well as automatizationsystems.

The higher stiffness of rolling stand, the principally new approach to the strip longitudinal profile control, the integrated control of the strip longitudinal and cross-sectional profile permit to produce the precision strip and foil with longitudinal and cross-sectional variations in thickness decreased by 1,5 times and with the flatness improved by 80%.

The mill production is used mainly for manufacturing of articles that require the higher strip and foil flatness and composite materials by glueing together the strip andfoilwithnon-metallicmaterials.
